Convention Schedule Update!

With things returning to normal, I wanted to give a quick update on my convention schedule for the summer. I had to cut back on my convention appearances due to the wedding, so I missed a few earlier in the summer. Fear not! I have submitted panels to a few conventions in the latter half of the summer and fall.

This year I am polishing up a couple of my panels that I run at various conventions, the History of CGI in Anime and also my J-Rock panel. I am also revamping my animation panel, giving more insight to the animation process, workflows and more. As of now I don’t have a concrete schedule or any confirmed dates as the conventions I applied to are still in the process of reviewing and choosing their schedules.

I will provide updates as soon as I can and look forward to sharing convention updates with you all!

Production Update 153: Animation Galore

The week started off a little dicey. I had homework to finish up and some revisions to freelance work to get done. I was really concerned that I wasn’t going to get to log as many hours on Cosmic Rage as I would have liked. However, as the weekend approached, I was able to get almost a full day in over the weekend. I had some shots to finish tweaking and then I was moving on to compositing all of the shots in the new scene I was working on.

Overall I was able to get 12 shots done and completed the scene that I was aiming to get done. Here is a frame from the current scene.

25_Fenix_Punch This week I need to go through a scene for audio revisions and also send this scene off for audio.

I am also taking a mini vacation and going to a concert to see a J-Rock band called One OK Rock that is touring in the US since they signed a US record deal. You can check out one of their music videos below.

I will also be at Anime Nebraskon this weekend to present a panel and check out the con! I am very excited to hit up the con and meet all kinds of new people.

For Cosmic Rage, I am starting to work on a new scene that is composed of 7 shots. MY goal is to get it done or very close to done by next weeks production update. I am starting a new project for school this week but feel like I can use Monday and Tuesday to get a strong start on this next scene. Have a fantastic week everyone!

Production Update 79 (an Audio Edition)

It has been a pretty good week behind the scenes. First off, one piece of big news, is that I found 2 music groups that are willing to let me use tracks in Cosmic Rage. One of the bands is Valkyrie Kiss. They are letting me use their track titled “Set Me Free” which can be purchased on iTunes.

The track is the first one for the band which labels themselves as a “JRock-inspired, culture-bridging power rock band from the SF Bay Area”. According to their facebook page, a new track will be released in late February.

You can also check out the band on bandcamp. I am really looking forward to putting their track to good use and possibly working with them again in the future. Make sure you check them out!

In the near future I will release information regarding the second group that will be contributing to the project. It has mostly been an audio kind of week. I downloaded sound effects to be used for the first scene which is comprised of about 8 shots. I have started to do some light audio mixing.

All of the audio work was inspired by the fact I was in the process of recruiting music tracks to be used for the last batch of scenes I rendered out in 3D. While I was gathering audio, I was also able to get another scene rendered out as well. I currently have about 4-6 3D scenes that need compositing, so a nice little backlog of things to work on.

On the agenda for this week might be a little audio work, so I can get to a point in the rough edit where I need the music tracks to sync visuals with. I am not sure what else I will get done since… I am getting my apartment this week! Which means I will be getting all of my supplies and even a couple new things for my place as well. I am excited to get my workspace the way I want it and with all of my things on hand! Might even get some pictures up too.
